Umbirez™ has been robustly trialled in the largest ever navel protection study (3). It’s been shown to reduce lamb mortality by 21% versus iodine meaning that 18 more lambs per 1000 born will survive. The study also demonstrated improved 8 week weights in live lambs versus the iodine treated group too.
-
Umbirez™ Navel has a high % of ethanol to cleanse the navel on contact, then a unique blend of natural polymer and metal salts that form a protective seal at the site to keep environmental pathogens out.
-
It consists of feed grade materials; a combination of a natural polymer combined with low levels of metal salts in an ethanol base. As for all navel products it’s not recommended for ingestion when wet due to the ethanol content but there are no specific requirements to prevent contact between ewe and lamb, or cow and calf, post application.
-
Umbirez™ Navel is not recommended for use near the eyes as it is an irritant. Take care not to get any product in the eyes when applying near the face.
