GLA Pharma is a 100% New Zealand–owned importer and distributor of veterinary pharmaceuticals.

With veterinary experience at our core, GLA Pharma is committed to offering animal health solutions made up of products and services that make a real difference to vets in practice - and ultimately to the care of animals.

Founded three years ago, GLA Pharma (GLA) was established to bring unique and innovative products to the equine and companion animal industries.

We began with a range of dermatology products and have since expanded our portfolio to include dental, behavioural, and microbiome solutions - with more exciting additions planned in the coming years.

At GLA, we believe in educating veterinary and retail staff, as well as animal owners, on relevant conditions and the correct use of products to ensure the best possible outcomes for animal health and welfare. A significant portion of our sales and marketing budget is invested in providing training and workshops, both virtually and in person.

GLA is a proud Silver Partner of the New Zealand Veterinary Association, including the NZ Equine Veterinary Association, and we maintain strong ties with the New Zealand Veterinary Nurse Association.

Our Team

Dr Peter Blaikie

Founder, CEO and Lower North Island Sales
Peter graduated 25 years ago from Massey University's veterinary school with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science and completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration immediately following graduation. He worked as a veterinary surgeon for five years before moving into the animal health industry in both the United Kingdom and New Zealand, taking on roles as a companion animal and equine Technical Vet and Marketing Manager.
In 2010, Peter founded an animal health distribution business in New Zealand, focusing on equine and companion animal veterinary markets. The business was later acquired, and he remained involved for three years to oversee the integration of another New Zealand equine animal health company.
In addition to his industry experience, Peter was a member of the New Zealand Veterinary Association Board and served as President from 2017 to 2019, further strengthening his networks within the veterinary sector.
Currently based on the Kāpiti Coast, just north of Wellington, Peter also manages sales for the lower North Island.
Kim Miller

National Key Account Manager
Kim has 35 years of experience in the animal health industry, beginning her career as a veterinary nurse for 10 years before transitioning into roles as an Equine/Companion Animal Account Manager and working with pet product distribution.
She later took on key account and export management responsibilities, specializing in equine products.
In her current role, Kim manages key accounts across both the veterinary and OTC channels, covering sales in the Upper North Island and South Island. She is based in Auckland.
Danielle Lett

Marketing Manager
Danielle manages all aspects of marketing, including product launch campaigns, event planning, print materials, and digital presence. She has nearly 20 years of experience in the animal health sector, previously working as a Brand Manager for companion animal and equine products.

Auckland based, part time
Our part-time OTC Sales Representative in Auckland focuses on building strong relationships with key accounts, promoting products, and supporting sales in the OTC channel.
With a background in animal health and retail sales, they bring valuable expertise and a customer-focused approach to the role.
